The nursery is an approved business operating under license No. 97-86, issued by the Voivodeship Office in Radom. Our company is included in the organic farming inspection plan of “BIOEKSPERT” – an organic farming certification body. For many years now, we have been the holder of an organic farming certificate.
The Nursery is run by Piotr Eggert, Eng., the pioneer aronia cultivator in Poland. He is a graduate from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and has been involved in the studies on this plant since 1975 – first as a researcher at the Research Institute and now in his own Nursery. He is the author of numerous publications on aronia, such as “Aronia od sadzonki do zbioru owoców” [aronia from cuttings to harvesting], and his expertise on this plant is absolutely outstanding.
The continuous work on the selection of aronia results in development of the shrubs which give high yield and, at the same time, which are best suited for mechanical harvesting. In effect, an improved “Nero-Eggert” variety has been derived from “Nero”, which is now very popular both in the domestic and foreign markets, mainly in Germany and Austria, but also in Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland, Macedonia, Ukraine, Great Britain, Greece, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Kosovo, Bosnia USA and Canada.
The comprehensive knowledge and expertise on aronia as a result of many years of studies and the continuous work on selection, propagation and growing of the plant have made us the best producer of propagation material in the market. Our clients are offered professional free of charge advice on how to start and run a aronia plantation.
